one Last picture

The Hurdy-gurdy has brought many adventures into our lives. Our newest adventure is a small gurdy of french origin recently rescued from the dark corner of an attic. Not ours sadly. However I have been searching or Googling it, as my middle daughter says,  for the history for this beautiful little instrument.    This piece found in my pile of unpublished drafts will be our last gurdy story, or at least the last active one. Two years ago our shop came to a slow stop as Mel was diagnosed with an early onset form of dementia. We were able to finish our commitments to customers and then after a large on-line auction, closed the doors of  "Hurdy-Gurdy Crafters. It has been difficult and while he has become an even sweeter and loving life partner, our days in the shop are a thing of the past. As always, our God has other plans for each of us and as we explore our new world, we invite you to join us. Many lessons and adventures are still ahead.  Oh yes the instrument mentioned at the b
